About PSC
After the establishment of Azad Govt. of the state of Jammu & Kashmir since December 28, 1950, the first corporate rules have been implemented. Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission AJKPSC launched under these rules—–. Its first chairman was Mr Ghulam Muhayyudin (CSP) Chief Adviser to the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, the Commission started its work regularly. In March 1967 the Commission’s offices moved to Muzaffarabad.
constitutional position
According to the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Act 1974(48), the public service is a constitutional institution.
48- PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE-(1) There shall be a Public Service Committee for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which shall consist of such a large number of members, including a chairman, and shall perform the functions prescribed.

Commission functions

The tasks of the Commission are:
To conduct tests and examinations for recruitment to the government departments of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and similar positions in connection with the affairs of the government as may be prescribed by rules established under Section 11;
to advise the President on matters relating to the qualification for and manner of recruitment for the services and positions referred to in clause (a); and
Any other matter that the chairman may submit to the committee.

The commission conducts tests and examinations for recruitment to:
The government departments and civil posts associated with the affairs of the government and fall in grades 16 and above, except those listed in Appendix 1:
Such positions in or under any company or other body or organization set up by the government under any law with a salary scale the maximum of which is Rs. 2200/- per menstrual period or higher, as may be referred to the Commission: and
Any other posts that may be referred to the Commission by the Government for recruitment.
